History

1999 - 2000 The investment fund Broadhurst Investments Limited, administrated in Romania by the New Century Holdings (NCH), purchased three milling and bakery companies: Mopariv Valcea, Berceni Bucharest, Granpan Tecuci. In 2000, Mopariv Valcea purchased Panegro Cluj.

2001. In December 2001, S.C. Vel Pitar S.A. is created through the merger of the two milling and bakery factories. The registered office of the new company was established in Ramnicu Valcea.

2002 - 2006. Vel Pitar S.A. enlarged through the purchasing of several new companies: Spicul Arges Pitesti (2002), Pangran Iasi and Grojpan Targu Jiu (2003), and in 2004 Vel Pitar purchased a production unit in Bals city, assigned to the working point from Ramnicu Valcea. 2005 marked the increasing of the group, by the merger with the companies Postavarul Brasov and Panem Giurgiu.

2007. The company Vel Pitar is divided into three autonomous companies having as object of activity bakery - S.C. Vel Pitar S.A., milling - S.C. Sapte Spice S.A. and the retail - S.C VP Magassin S.A. At the beginning of 2007, the Vel Pitar Group extended the manufacturing unit network in Dambovita county, in Targoviste city.
